Pride goes before a fall: Punjab agriculture minister on scrapping of farm laws

CHANDIGARH: Terming roll back of three contentious farm laws by the Union Government, Punjab Agriculture Minister Mr. Randeep Singh Nabha on Friday said that country’s farmers’ emerged victorious as ‘pride came before a fall’.

CHANDIGARH:Taking iron handedly about DAP overpricing, hoarding, and tagging, Punjab Agriculture Department has started crackdown campaign vigorously and FIRs lodged against twelve firms allegedly involved in overpricing, diversion of subsidized urea for industrial purpose, tagging other products, and sale of fertilizers from unauthorized sale point.

CHANDIGARH: On the intervention of Punjab`s Minister for Agriculture, Farmers` Welfare and Food Processing Mr. Randeep Singh Nabha on DAP shortage crisis, Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers Mr. Mansukh Mandaviya today assured to supply 10 rakes of DAP (Diammonium Phosphate), 5 rakes of NPK (Complex Fertilizer) and 2 of SSP (Single Super Phosphate) within three to four days to Punjab.

Punjab Agriculture Department flouted the reservation rules during promotions: Pritam Singh

CHANDIGARH: A case of violation of reservation rules in promotion has come to light in the Agriculture Department of Punjab. Pritam Singh, President, Dr. BR Ambedkar Welfare Trust, while addressing a press conference said that in the meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary ,Punjab the 97 officers as Agriculture Development Officers, 30 Agriculture Officers as Deputy Director and 144 officers as Agriculture Sub Inspectors were promoted.

CHANDIGARH: To educate the farmers across the state from the attack of yellow rust on the wheat, the state Agriculture Department has set up a call center to provide relevant information to the farmers to combat the menace of yellow rust thus saving their precious wheat crop from this deadly disease.
